Transitions, Inversions & Balancing Workshop III

July 2025, Castlemaine

  • Join Alex for the first workshop of 2025, and the fifth of this series focusing on Transitions, Inversions and Balancing. He will take you through the techniques, alignment and steps for transitions between fun yet challenging inversions and balancing yoga postures, including 8-angle pose, crow, scorpion, flying dragon and handstands.

This 3-hour interactive workshop will focus on exploring dynamic transitions and the strength, stability, breathing techniques and confidence for entering and holding postures.

Workshop places are limited to ensure opportunities for individual feedback and some partner work. This workshop is open to previous workshop participants and first timers.

    Join the workshop waitlist.

  • Alex is a yoga teacher, clinical pilates instructor and personal trainer. His practice and workshops focus on linking an understanding of individual biomechanics with movement, breathing patterns and flow between postures. Read more about Alex.

  • The focus of this workshop is on dynamic transitions between intermediate arm and leg balances. It is designed for people familiar with inversions (such as forearm balances, headstands or handstands) and with the current mobility to complete a full pushup and yogi (deep) squat comfortably.

Due to the inversions and postures involved, this workshop is not suitable for practitioners who are pregnant or with concerns about high blood pressure or circulation.

All participants will be asked to complete a consent form and medical waiver before the workshop.

See FAQs for further information on participating with injury or health conditions.

Please contact Alex if you have any questions about the workshop.

  • The workshop will be held in Castlemaine, date TBC in 2025. Please join the workshop waitlist or contact Alex for more information.

  • Please bring your own yoga mat, water, snacks and fun attitude. You are welcome to bring props (blocks, bolsters, straps, etc); some props will be available on the day.

Wear comfortable clothing suitable for inversions and groundwork, and grippy socks (such as those for pilates or trampolining).

  • $60 per person (no GST).

Payment options of cash or Paypal.

A 24 hour cancellation policy applies for pre-booked places.

FAQS

Making a booking +

Which session or workshop should I choose? +

We recommend an individual session (1:1) as a great place to start for those new to personal training, or if you have experienced recent injury or change to health condition.

If you would like to bring a friend, 2:1 sessions are a perfect way to combine catching up with friends and family (or if you like a bit of competition).

Session packages are also available and are an excellent way to maintain steady progress towards your goals.

Outdoor sessions are a great way to enjoy parks and fresh air, while online sessions offer even more flexibility for you.

Workshops are held with a small group and focus on particular skills or goals.

Please contact us if you would like to join our waitlist or have any questions.

Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings.

How do I book a clinical pilates or yoga session? +

Your personal training session is designed to support your goals and interests. We can either integrate some components of yoga or clinical pilates, or dedicate your entire session to yoga or mat-based clinical pilates.

We recommend you discuss your interest in yoga or clinical pilates with your trainer before your session, as some minimal equipment may be appropriate.

While our trainers specialise in both mat and reformer clinical pilates, we currently do not offer reformer-based sessions.

Please contact us if you would like to join our waitlist.

What is a 2:1 session? +

A two on one (2:1) session is when you bring a friend, family member or partner to train with you. Your trainer will work with you both to provide individualised feedback and support to meet your goals. We ask that clients organise their own training partners.

If it is your first time training, or if you have experienced a recent injury or change to health condition, we recommend booking an individual session prior to a 2:1 session. Individual sessions support a closer focus on your goals and managing any exercise restrictions.

How do I book a 2:1 session? +

Please contact us if you would like to join our waitlist.

Before your first 2:1 session, your trainer will send you both an invitation to each create a client profile.

Each person will need to create their own client profile and complete individual client forms (and if needed, any medical clearances).

Can you help me find a training partner for a 2:1 session? +

We ask that clients organise their own training partners. We're happy to keep a note of your request, but cannot guarantee we will be able to find you a training partner.

I don’t have any equipment or weights, will I still get a good workout in sessions? +

Your sessions are designed to support your goals and what a good workout means for you. While our personal trainers specialise in bodyweight and functional exercises, some minimal equipment may be appropriate, particularly if you are dealing with injuries. Please discuss this with your trainer before your session.

How do I book a workshop? +

Workshop information will be on this website. Please contact us if you have an enquiry about an upcoming workshop.

How much does a session or workshop cost? +

See our current price list . Workshop costs will vary based on duration and group size.

Do you have gift cards? +

Yes! Gift cards are available. They are valid for one year from date of purchase.

We're doing our best to be green and paperless, so do not offer physical gift cards.

I have a gift card, how do I book a session? +

Booking a session using your gift card is easy!

Contact us and include:

  • the session type
  • your preferred days/hours
  • online or outdoor location
  • the gift card number.

We'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Our general Terms & Conditions apply to gift card bookings.

Your session and workshop +

What should I expect from my first session? +

We recommend an individual session if you are new to personal training. You’ll be asked to complete a sign up questionnaire the first time you book a session. Please seek medical clearance for personal training if you identify any issues that may impact on your training.

Your personal training sessions are specifically tailored for your goals, interests and needs. Your trainer will discuss these and take you through a warmup and assessment program, identifying possible areas of focus, such as overall conditioning, postural alignment, and injury prevention or management.

We always welcome your feedback and you are encouraged to speak up if you ever feel unsure about an exercise.

What should I expect from a workshop? +

Workshop information will be on this website. Please contact us if you have an enquiry about an upcoming workshop or would like to join our waitlist.

What should I wear? +

Comfortable clothes that you can easily bend, sit, stretch, twist and break a sweat in are perfect. Running shoes are needed for outdoor sessions.

Where are outdoor sessions held? +

Outdoor sessions are located in parks (see main northside locations) , with specific meeting points confirmed directly with your personal trainer. Alternative training locations in Thornbury, Northcote, Bendigo and Castlemaine may be available. Please contact us if you have an enquiry about other locations.

Please note that park facilities such as bathrooms and water fountains may not always be available.

What should I bring to outdoor sessions? +

Please bring:

  • towel and/or yoga mat for any ground work
  • water bottle
  • weather-appropriate gear (hat, sunscreen, etc)
  • any equipment you would like to use.

Please note that park facilities such as bathrooms and water fountains may not always be available.

Can I bring my dog to my outdoor session? +

Once your outdoor session location is confirmed, you're welcome to bring your dog (if dogs are allowed in that park - please double check the park's website beforehand if you're unsure). However, you'll be responsible for the ongoing care and management of your dog throughout the session: parks are likely to have other dogs, children, picnics and other fun distractions. Please always bring a leash for your furry friend!

Please note that park facilities such as bathrooms, water fountains and doggy waste disposal stations may not always be available.

What if it's raining or very hot? +

Your trainer will be in contact with you to confirm training options. For everyone's safety, we do not train outdoors on days over 35 degrees, or if there are other serious weather warnings issued. Weather forecasts can be found on the Bureau of Meteorology website .

What program or platforms are used for online sessions? +

We use Zoom or Facetime as our training platforms. Your trainer will confirm training details with you directly.

How much floor space do I need for an online training session? +

Not much. Enough space for you to comfortably bend, lie down, stretch, sit and hop.

What if I can’t make it to my session or workshop? +

We understand that life happens. We ask clients to contact your personal trainer directly (SMS preferred); however, we do have a 24 hour cancellation policy for all sessions and workshops.

Transfers may be possible; please contact your trainer to discuss.
Please notify your trainer as soon as possible, as there may be other clients on the waiting list and we want to be fair to everyone.

I’m managing an injury or health issue. Can I still train or participate? +

Your health and safety is our priority - so it depends!

You will fill out a client form requesting relevant medical history before your first session or workshop.

Please note:

  • If you have a known but stable condition or injury and have not received recent (in the past year) medical clearance for exercise, we request that you provide written medical clearance before your session.
  • If you have had recent surgery, diagnoses, injury, or are pregnant or were recently pregnant, we request that you provide written medical clearance before your session.

If you do not provide medical clearance, your trainer may decline your booking.

If you have any injuries or health issues that may impact on your training, we recommend booking an individual, 1:1 x 1 hour session to discuss any restrictions and work through exercise and movement alternatives or modifications.

Please tell your personal trainer at any time if there are any issues, or if you are not feeling good on any given day - even if your trainer is aware of your injury or health condition.

Read more detail in our Terms & Conditions .
